Presentations at WCCI 2026
Presentation @ WCCI SymReg WorkshopMaastricht Exhibition & Congress Center
Maastricht
I attended the ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ (IEEE WCCI 2026) ๐ in Maastricht, Netherlands, from 22 to 26 June. Monday 23 turned out to be a particularly hectic day, with two oral presentations covering quite different applications.
๐At the ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐๐ 2026), I presented our paper (“Neutrino Oscillation Parameter Estimation Using Structured Hierarchical Transformers”)[publication/morales-neutrino-2026], joint work with Gregory Lehaut, Antonin Vacheret, Frederic Jurie, and Jalal Fadili, from Greyc and LPC Caen, France.
๐I also gave a presentation at the (SymReg@WCCI 2026), which is part of the ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐๐๐): (“Learning Parametric Nitrogen Fertilizer Response Curves Using Neuro Symbolic Regression”)[publication/morales-2026-symreg], coauthored with Dr. John Sheppard, from Montana State University-Bozeman.
๐ค One of the highlights of the week was connecting with the Symbolic Regression community and learning about their latest developments. Many thanks to Gabriel Kronberger for organizing the SymReg workshop and bringing the community together.
โจAnother highlight was catching up with Dr. John Sheppard. One of the perks of staying in academia is that you keep finding opportunities to meet your PhD advisor at conferences around the world.
Looking forward to seeing how these collaborations and research directions continue to evolve.
